About Crown & Sea Yoga

Hi, I’m Anna Andersen, the heart behind Crown and Sea Yoga.

I’ve been practicing yoga for over 2 decades—mostly in various studios, barefoot in living rooms, backyards, and quiet corners of motherhood. As a dedicated stay-at-home mom, I spent the better part of two decades immersed in the joy (and sometimes chaos) of raising my two sons, Taj and Kai. They taught me how to live with presence, patience, and awe—all things yoga asks of us too.

Over time, I began to see that yoga isn’t just a practice—it’s a way of being. It’s in the breath before speaking, the soil under our fingernails, the meals we prepare with love. Everyone and everything around us can become a teacher, offering us a moment of awareness, compassion, or surrender—if we’re willing to listen. I’ve found that life itself is a kind of moving meditation, and there’s a lesson tucked into every encounter.

I’ve always found yoga not just on the mat, but in my hands—in gardening, ceramics, and especially cooking, where creativity and care meet. My lifelong curiosity about natural wellness, especially while living with hypothyroidism, has guided me toward a more intentional and embodied way of living.

Along the way, I’ve been lucky to learn from a variety of wise and generous teachers who helped shape my understanding of yoga, each offering something beautiful that stayed with me.

People often ask, “What made you finally want to become a yoga teacher?”

Honestly, the answer maybe strange and simple:

I’ve always felt a deep pull to nurture—whether through a warm meal, a quiet conversation, or simply being present. Teaching yoga is a natural extension of that love. It allows me to hold space for others to feel seen, supported, and whole. It’s not just about movement—it’s about reminding people they are loved, just as they are.

One day, it just felt different.

The calling had always been there, but this time, it clicked.

I want to learn more.

I want to teach—so I could learn from the students.

It felt like the right time. My boys were growing into independent teenagers, and with the loving support of my partner Matt—a natural yogi in every way—I finally said yes.

What followed was a quiet, beautiful unfolding. A reminder that it’s never too late to return to your essence. To walk toward wonder. To rise…

I’m endlessly grateful—for the path, the pauses, the people, and the practice.

And I’m honored to share this space with you.

Love Always,

Anna Andersen
